If you want absolute top speed. If you're looking for the PRO model with 8.5 m/s – faster than anything else. If you want to choose between surface mounting (suction cups) and recessed mounting (niche).
You've seen the EVAstream MOVE (battery-powered, 6.7 m/s, mobile). You've seen the Binder HydroStar (turbine-powered, 3.2 m/s, stationary). But you want more.
More speed. More power. More adaptability.
The EVAstream counter-current system (stationary) is the absolute top of the line:
- EVAstream PRO: 8.5 m/s – fastest counter-current system on the market (faster than EVAstream MOVE at 6.7 m/s, almost 3x faster than Binder HydroStar at 3.2 m/s)
- 3 performance levels (FIT/PRO/MAX – for every type of swimmer)
- 2 installation options (attachment with suction cups = retrofitted, niche = permanently installed)
- Modular concept (no separate pump shaft required – more compact than Binder)
- Large swimming area (current extends further than in conventional systems)
- Design selection (white, anthracite, silver grey, stainless steel V4A)
This isn't "a counter-current system". This is the Formula 1 of counter-current systems.
Sunday morning, 7:00 a.m. You start EVAstream PRO at 8.5 m/s. This isn't swimming anymore—it's fighting a wall of water. Sprint training like nowhere else. After 20 minutes: Exhausted. Happy. Stronger.
The 5 most important advantages at a glance:
- 8.5 m/s peak speed (EVAstream PRO) : Fastest counter-current system on the market – 2.6x faster than Binder HydroStar (3.2 m/s), 1.3x faster than EVAstream MOVE (6.7 m/s), for elite athletes + resistance training
- 3 performance levels for every type of swimmer : FIT (225 m³/h, 5.5 m/s, 1 turbine – recreational swimmers), PRO (350 m³/h, 8.5 m/s, 1 turbine – experienced swimmers), MAX (450 m³/h, 2x 5.5 m/s, 2 turbines – athletes)
- 2 installation options = maximum flexibility : Attachment with suction cups (can be retrofitted, no wall penetrations, reversible) OR niche (permanently installed, invisible, aesthetically pleasing)
- Modular concept = simpler installation : No separate pump shaft required (as with some competing systems), compact installation, faster assembly than Binder (turbine + MCU only)
- Large swimming area + powerful full-body current : The current reaches further than with pump systems (4-5m instead of 2-3m), swimmers feel the current from head to toe (not just at specific points), consistent swimming experience
For whom is this premium counter-current system ideally suited?
Reality check : The EVAstream (stationary) is for people who want absolute top performance – and are prepared to install it permanently (not mobile like EVAstream MOVE).
✓ Elite athletes who need 8.5 m/s (EVAstream PRO)
You're a professional triathlete. Or a former competitive swimmer. Or an elite athlete. 6.7 m/s (EVAstream MOVE) isn't enough for you. You want maximum resistance – like swimming against a wall. EVAstream PRO delivers 8.5 m/s (350 m³/h). That's Olympic-level resistance training. No other system on the market offers this speed.
✓ People with electricity at the pool (who want a stationary solution)
You have a power outlet by the pool (or have laid an underground cable). You don't want battery limits (60 minutes like the EVAstream MOVE). You want unlimited runtime (as long as the power is on = unlimited swimming). The EVAstream (stationary) runs on mains power (230V) → no battery runtime limit.
✓ People who want to choose between surface mounting and built-in mounting
Surface-mounted model (with suction cups): For retrofitting (no wall penetration required), reversible (can be removed at any time), easy installation (suitable for DIYers). BUT: Only for smooth surfaces (foil, fiberglass) – not for tiles (suction cups won't adhere).
Niche model (permanently installed): You want an aesthetically pleasing, invisible solution (turbine recessed in the wall), permanently installed (like Binder HydroStar), high-quality LED lighting included. Requires: wall opening, niche (950mm wide x 330mm high x 450mm deep).
✓ People who appreciate a modular concept (easier installation than binders)
Binder HydroStar requires: installation shaft + turbines + control box + wiring + possibly a separate pump shaft (for some installations). EVAstream requires: only a turbine + MCU (motor control) + push button. No separate pump shaft is needed. This saves space, costs, and installation time.
✓ People who want a large swimming area (current extends further)
Conventional pump systems: The current reaches 2-3m (then stops). EVAstream: The current reaches 4-5m (due to higher speed and turbine technology). Practical: You can swim further away from the turbine – yet still feel a powerful current.
✓ Recreational swimmers (EVAstream FIT), experienced swimmers (PRO), athletes (MAX)
EVAstream FIT (225 m³/h, 5.5 m/s, 1 turbine): For recreational swimmers, fitness training, 3-4 times/week for 20-30 minutes. Similar to EVAstream MOVE 225 – but stationary (unlimited operating time).
EVAstream PRO (350 m³/h, 8.5 m/s, 1 turbine): For experienced swimmers, intensive training, 5-7 times a week. Fastest single-turbine system on the market.
EVAstream MAX (450 m³/h, 2 x 5.5 m/s, 2 turbines): For athletes, families (children and adults swimming simultaneously), and large pools. Highest flow rate (450 m³/h).
✓ People who appreciate design choices (White/Anthracite/Stainless Steel V4A)
Binder: Stainless steel cover grid only (silver). EVAstream: White (discreet, matches light-colored pools), Anthracite (modern, matches dark pools), Silver-grey (neutral), Stainless steel V4A (premium, glossy). You choose to match your pool design.
✓ People with foil-lined pools (who want a top-mounted model)
Liner pool + retrofit installation? Problem with Binder: Wall penetration in the liner = complex, risky (damage to the liner). EVAstream add-on model: Suction cups on the liner = no wall penetrations, simple, reversible. Ideal for retrofitting liner pools.
Product description: Where top speed meets modular flexibility
The concept: The fastest, most flexible counter-current system
EVAstream has rethought the counter-current system:
Problem with conventional systems:
- Pump systems: Point jet, low speed (2-3 m/s), flow only reaches 2m.
- Binder HydroStar: Very good (turbine, wide flow), but max. 3.2 m/s → too slow for elite athletes.
- EVAstream MOVE: Very fast (6.7 m/s), but battery limit (60 min).
EVAstream (stationary) combines the best of:
- Turbine technology (like Binder) → broad, powerful flow
- Extreme speed (up to 8.5 m/s) → faster than anything else
- Unlimited runtime (mains power) → no battery limit
- Modular design (no separate pump shaft) → easier installation
- 2 installation options (surface-mounted OR niche) → maximum flexibility
The result: The most versatile, highest-performing counter-current system on the market.
The 3 models: FIT, PRO, MAX – Which one suits you?
EVAstream FIT (for recreational swimmers)
Turbines: 1 piece
Flow rate: 225 m³/h
Flow velocity: 5.5 m/s
Rated power: 1.2 kW (230V)
For whom: Recreational swimmers, fitness training, 3-4 times/week 20-30 min, aqua jogging
Minimum pool size: 5.0m x 3.0m
Comparable to: EVAstream MOVE 225, Binder EasyStar
What does 5.5 m/s mean?
Intense fitness training. Significantly faster than Binder EasyStar (approx. 2.5 m/s). Equivalent to a pace of approximately 1:50 min/100m (brisk freestyle swimming). Already very challenging for recreational swimmers.
EVAstream PRO (for experienced swimmers) – THE HIGHLIGHT
Turbines: 1 piece
Flow rate: 350 m³/h
Flow velocity: 8.5 m/s ← FASTEST SINGLE TURBINE PLANT
Rated power: 2.0 kW (230V)
For whom: Experienced swimmers, intensive training, 5-7 times/week, elite athletes
Minimum pool size: 6.0m x 3.0m
Comparable to: Nothing. Unrivaled speed.
What does 8.5 m/s mean?
That's extreme. For comparison:
- World record 100m freestyle (César Cielo): Ø 2.13 m/s (peak 2.5 m/s)
- 8.5 m/s = 4 times faster than the world record average
They're not swimming "against the current." They're swimming against a wall of water. This is resistance training for the absolute elite. Like sprinting with a parachute. Like running with a weighted vest. Maximum resistance = maximum training effect.
Who needs 8.5 m/s?
- Olympic participant (sprint training)
- Professional triathletes (strength + endurance)
- Former competitive swimmers (who find "normal" facilities boring)
- People who want the absolute maximum (because they can)
However, the speed is continuously adjustable (as with all EVAstream models). You can also swim at 2.0 m/s (gentle) or 5.0 m/s (intense). 8.5 m/s is the maximum – there's no obligation.
EVAstream MAX (for athletes + families)
Turbines: 2 units
Flow rate: 450 m³/h (maximum throughput)
Flow velocity: 2 x 5.5 m/s (combined)
Rated power: 2.4 kW (230V)
For whom: Athletes, families (multiple people at once), large pools
Minimum pool size: 5.0m x 3.0m
Comparable to: Binder HydroStar BGA 320/430 (2 turbines)
What does "2x 5.5 m/s" mean?
Two turbines (side by side or one above the other in a niche). Each delivers 5.5 m/s. Combined: wider flow (both turbines together cover a larger area) + higher throughput (450 m³/h = more water moved).
Advantage over EVAstream PRO:
- Wider swimming zone: Two turbines = a wider current (not just faster). Ideal for: Several people at once (adults + children).
- Higher throughput: 450 m³/h (instead of 350 m³/h for PRO) = more water moved = larger swimming zone.
Disadvantage compared to EVAstream PRO:
- Lower maximum speed: 5.5 m/s (instead of 8.5 m/s for the PRO model). Not sufficient for elite sprint training.
Choose MAX if: you have large pools (>8m), want family training (children + adults at the same time), or a wide swimming zone is more important than maximum speed.
2 installation options: Surface-mounted (suction cups) vs. recessed (fixed)
EVAstream as a clip-on model (with suction cups)
How does that work?
The EVAstream unit (turbine + housing) is mounted on the outside of the pool wall – secured with extra strong suction cups (2 pieces, included in the scope of delivery).
Advantages: ✓ No wall penetrations (pool wall remains undamaged)
✓ Can be retrofitted (even with an existing pool)
✓ Reversible (can be removed at any time – e.g. when moving out)
✓ Suitable for DIY enthusiasts (no professional company required)
✓ Cheaper (no need to buy/install a niche)
Disadvantages: ✗ Only for smooth surfaces (foil, GRP, polyester) – NOT for tiles (suction cups do not adhere to tile grout)
✗ Visible (turbine protrudes from pool wall – less aesthetically pleasing)
✗ Could slip (in strong waves/movements – but suction cups are "extra strong")
Scope of delivery for the attachment model:
- EVAstream Turbine (FIT/PRO/MAX)
- Motor control MCU
- 3-way PIEZO switch (wall switch, DMX-controlled)
- 2x suction cup mounts (extra strong, with adjustment screw)
- 5m DMX cable
- Color options: Anthracite, White, Stainless steel V4A (only for top-mounted units)
Price: Approx. €4,000-€6,000 (depending on model FIT/PRO/MAX, excluding installation)
EVAstream recessed in a built-in niche
How does that work?
A niche (950mm wide x 330mm high x 450mm deep) is built into the pool wall (directly in new construction, in retrofitting: the wall needs to be cut open). The EVAstream turbine is recessed into the niche . Visible from the outside: only the HEX cover (design element) + LED lighting (2x underwater LEDs, 20W RGBW).
Advantages: ✓ Aesthetic (turbine invisible, only a beautiful aperture visible)
✓ Permanently installed (no risk of slipping like with suction cups)
✓ LED lighting included (2x RGB LEDs, 20W – pool wall is illuminated, beautiful effect at night)
✓ For all surfaces (tiles, foil, concrete, GRP, PP pools)
Disadvantages: ✗ Wall opening required (complex for retrofitting, reversible only with effort)
✗ Specialist company recommended (installation of niche, wiring, sealing)
✗ More expensive (niche + LED + installation = additional cost €1,000-2,000)
Scope of delivery for niche model:
- EVAstream Turbine (FIT/PRO/MAX)
- Motor control MCU
- 3-way PIEZO push button (DMX controlled)
- EVAStream WideX1 recessed niche (polypropylene, 950x330x450mm)
- EVAstream WideX1 HEX Bezel (ABS plastic, design cover)
- 3x installation niche (for 2x LED + 1x push button)
- 2x LED cover (190mm, ABS)
- 5m DMX cable
- 2x EVA OPTIC RX Smart LED UWS (20W RGBW, 6500K, 10m cable) ← High-quality RGB lighting
- Color options: Anthracite, White, Silver Grey (no stainless steel for niche)
Price: Approx. €5,000-€8,000 (depending on model FIT/PRO/MAX, excluding installation)
Modular concept – Easier installation than binders
The problem with some competing systems:
Some counter-current systems (especially older models or pump systems) require a separate pump chamber – an additional basin (often 1m x 1m x 1m) next to the pool, where the pump + filter + technology are housed.
Disadvantage: More space required, more earthworks, higher costs (building a pump shaft = €2,000-4,000 extra).
EVAstream: No separate pump shaft required.
Why? The turbine and motor control unit (MCU) are compact – they fit directly into the recess (for recessed models) or onto the pool wall (for surface-mounted models). All in one unit.
This saves:
- Space (no pump shaft next to pool)
- Costs (not building a pump shaft)
- Installation time (only connecting turbine + MCU)
Comparison of HydroStar binders:
Binder also doesn't need a separate pump shaft (modern turbine technology). EVAstream and Binder are on par in this respect. However, EVAstream additionally offers the option of attaching suction cups – which Binder lacks.
Large swimming area – current extends further
Conventional pumping systems:
The current reaches 2-3m (then it stops). You must swim directly in front of the nozzle (1-2m distance) – otherwise you won't feel the current.
EVAstream:
The flow reaches 4-5m (due to higher speed + turbine technology + optimized design).
In practical terms, this means:
You can swim further away from the turbine (3-4m distance) – and still feel a powerful current. The usable swimming area is larger.
Plus: Whole-body flow.
The current affects your entire body (head, shoulders, torso, legs) – not just at specific points (like with pump nozzles). You feel the current from head to toe.
Design selection – to match your pool
Essay model:
- White (ABS plastic, subtle, matches light-colored pools/tiles)
- Anthracite (ABS plastic, modern, matches dark pools/natural stone)
- Stainless steel V4A (glossy, premium, timeless, corrosion-resistant)
Niche model:
- White (ABS panel, subtle)
- Anthracite (ABS panel, modern)
- Silver grey (ABS panel, neutral)
Plus: RGB LED lighting (niche model only):
2x underwater LEDs (20W RGBW). Selectable color (red, green, blue, white, or color changing). Illuminates the pool wall – beautiful effect at night.
3-way PIEZO switch – DMX controlled
Instructions:
3 buttons (PIEZO technology, touch-sensitive):
- On off
- Increase speed (continuously variable)
- Reduce speed (continuously)
DMX-controlled:
The push button communicates with the motor control unit (MCU) via a DMX cable (5m included). DMX = Digital Multiplex (standard in lighting/stage technology) – reliable, interference-free communication.
Installation: The button is installed in the pool wall (installation niche, included with the niche model) or mounted outside the pool.

Frequently Asked Questions – Honest Answers
Q: Do I really need 8.5 m/s (EVAstream PRO)?
A: For 99% of swimmers: No. 5.5 m/s (FIT) is already very intense. But: If you are an elite athlete, a former competitive swimmer, or want the absolute maximum – then yes.
Q: Which model (FIT/PRO/MAX) should I choose?
A:
FIT : Recreational swimmer, 3-4 times/week, budget-conscious
PRO : Experienced swimmers, 5-7 times/week, maximum speed
MAX : Families (several people at the same time), large pools, wide swimming area
Q: Attachment (suction cups) or niche (fixed)?
A:
Add-on : Retrofit installation, no wall penetrations required, reversible, cheaper – BUT only for foil/GRP (not tiles)
Niche : Aesthetically pleasing, fixed, LED lighting included, suitable for all surfaces – but more expensive and complex.
Q: Do suction cups really hold (attachment model)?
A: Yes. EVAstream uses "extra strong" suction cups (2 pieces) with adjusting screws (tighten for more adhesion). But: Only on smooth surfaces (film, GRP). Not on tiles (grout lines = suction cups won't stick).
Q: Can I retrofit EVAstream into an existing pool?
A: Yes. Surface-mounted model: Simple (suction cups, no wall penetrations). Niche model: Complex (cutting into the wall, installing a niche).
Q: Where should I install EVAstream?
A: Opposite the skimmer. Water flows from EVAstream → through the pool → to the skimmer (circulation). This ensures a consistent flow throughout the entire pool.
