If you don't have a power outlet by the pool. If you want maximum flexibility. If you want to work out today – not after an electrician appointment in three weeks.
You have a pool. Perhaps newly built. Perhaps you've had it for years. You finally want a counter-current system – endless swimming, proper training, no more frustrating turns.
However, there's no electrical outlet nearby at your pool. The nearest power connection is 15 meters away (inside the house). To run electricity to the pool, you would need: an electrician, underground cable installation, permits, and possibly even digging up the lawn/terrace. Cost: €2,000-€4,000. Time: Weeks, months.
Or: You have a power outlet – but don't want to be dependent on cables. You want to position the counter-current system flexibly (here today, there tomorrow). You also want to use it in your holiday home (where there's no electricity by the pool).
The solution: EVAstream MOVE. The world's first battery-powered counter-current system.
No cables. No power outlet needed. No installation. Simply: charge the battery (4 hours using a normal household outlet), carry the device to the pool (portable), hang it on the poolside, switch it on, and swim.
Plug & Play. Literally.
What you will receive:
- Battery-powered (60 min runtime at full power, 4h charging time at 230V socket)
- Turbine technology (broad flow like binder, not a focused jet nozzle)
- Maximum speed of up to 6.7 m/s (faster than most stationary systems – professional level)
- 2 performance levels (225 m³/h or 275 m³/h – depending on the model)
- Hanging instead of installing (hanging on the edge of the pool, no wall penetrations, no assembly required)
- Flexible positioning (today in place A, tomorrow in place B – or take it with you to the holiday home)
- EVA Experience Web App (swim time management, intensity control, real-time monitoring)
- 2-year warranty (turbine + drive), 1-year warranty (battery) – extendable to 3 years upon registration
This is not "a counter-current system". This is freedom.
Sunday morning, 8:00 a.m. You carry the EVAstream MOVE to the pool (portable, estimated weight approx. 25-30 kg). Hang it on the poolside. Switch it on. Swim for 60 minutes at full intensity. Afterwards: Carry the device indoors and charge the battery (4 hours using a standard wall outlet). Ready to use again tomorrow.
The 5 most important advantages at a glance:
- Battery-powered = no power outlet needed at the pool : 60 minutes runtime at 100% power – sufficient for a complete workout, 4-hour charging time at a standard 230V outlet (in the house/garage), no need to lay underground cables, no electrician required
- Hook-on instead of built-in = Plug & Play : Hook onto the pool edge (no wall penetrations like with Binder), immediately ready for use, no assembly, no installation, ideal for rental pools or temporary use.
- Turbine technology with speeds up to 6.7 m/s : Faster than most stationary systems (Binder HydroStar max. 3.2 m/s) – suitable for professional training, wide flow (not a focused jet), 2 models (225 or 275 m³/h)
- Flexible positioning + mobile : Hang it here today, there tomorrow – find the optimal position, or: Take it with you to your holiday home (portable), store it in winter (space-saving)
- EVA Experience web app for smart training : Real-time intensity control, swim time management, training session monitoring, statistics tracking (how many minutes at what speed)
For whom is this battery-powered counter-current system ideally suited?
Reality check : The EVAstream MOVE is for people who don't have a power outlet by the pool – or who value maximum flexibility (positioning the device, using it in the holiday home, using it seasonally).
✓ People without a power outlet at the pool (most common reason)
Your pool is 10-15 meters from the house. The nearest electrical outlet is in the house/garage. To run electricity to the pool: hire an electrician, lay underground cables (dig a trench, lay the cable, backfill), possibly tear up the lawn/patio, and obtain permits. Cost: €2,000-€4,000. Time: weeks/months. The EVAstream MOVE doesn't need an outlet at the pool. Charge the battery in the house (4 hours using a standard outlet), carry the device to the pool, plug it in, and you're done.
✓ People who want to train today – not in 3 weeks
You want a counter-current swimming system now. Not "sometime when the electrician has time." Stationary systems (Binder HydroStar, EasyStar) require: installation (wall penetration, installation shaft, wiring), a specialist company, and scheduling. Waiting time: 2-8 weeks. The EVAstream MOVE: delivery time 3-5 days → ready to use immediately. Plug & Play.
✓ Tenants or people with temporary pools
You rent a house with a pool (long-term lease, 2-3 years). Or: You have an above-ground pool (which is dismantled in winter). Stationary counter-current systems (Binders) = installed in the pool wall → irreversible, belongs to the landlord/remains in the pool . The EVAstream MOVE: Attach it, use it, take it with you when you move out/winter. The investment remains your property.
✓ People with multiple pools (main residence + holiday home)
You have a pool at home (primary residence) and a pool at your holiday home (Tuscany, Provence, Mallorca). You want to train in both. Buy two stationary systems? (2x Binder = €12,000-€20,000). The EVAstream MOVE: One system, both pools. In summer: holiday home. The rest of the year: primary residence. Portable, mobile.
✓ People who value flexible positioning
Stationary systems (cable ladders) have a fixed position (installed in a shaft in the pool wall). You cannot change their position. Problem: Perhaps the current is too close to the ladder. Or: The sun is glaring in that exact spot. With EVAstream MOVE: Change the position (attach it in position A today, in position B tomorrow). Find the optimal position by trial and error.
✓ Professional swimmers who want maximum speed
The EVAstream MOVE achieves speeds of up to 6.7 m/s (275 m³/h model). For comparison, the Binder HydroStar BGA 600 (premium model) reaches a maximum of 3.2 m/s. The EVAstream MOVE is twice as fast. This isn't "hobby training"—this is Olympic level (world record 100m freestyle: approx. 2.1 m/s average, peak 2.5 m/s). 6.7 m/s = sprint training for elite swimmers.
✓ People who appreciate smart training (EVA Experience web app)
The app (free, web-based) connects to the EVAstream MOVE: adjust intensity in real time (from gentle to a maximum of 6.7 m/s), track swim time ("today 45 min at an average of 3.5 m/s"), monitor training sessions, and view statistics (progress over weeks). Like a fitness tracker – but for swimming.
✓ People with small to medium-sized pools (4.5m+)
Minimum dimensions: 4.5m length x 2.5m width. The EVAstream MOVE is also suitable for larger pools (8-12m) – but then it competes with stationary systems (binders). The sweet spot is: smaller pools (4.5-8m), where stationary systems would be oversized.
✓ People with chlorine pools (NOT saltwater)
IMPORTANT: The EVAstream MOVE is only suitable for chlorine pools . Not for saltwater pools (salt electrolysis systems). Saltwater corrodes electronics → warranty voided. If you have a saltwater pool: use Binder HydroStar/EasyStar (these are saltwater-compatible).
Product description: Where battery freedom meets professional performance
The concept: The world's first battery-powered counter-current system
Counter-current systems have been around for decades. But they all need electricity . Either a 230V socket by the pool (Binder, pump systems). Or even high-voltage power (some professional systems).
Problem: What if you don't have a power outlet by the pool? Then you have to lay underground cables (expensive, time-consuming). Or: You forgo a counter-current system (frustrating).
EVAstream has solved the problem – with battery technology.
Lithium-ion battery (as used in e-bikes and electric cars):
- Capacity: 45 Ah (model 225 m³/h) or 60 Ah (model 275 m³/h)
- Voltage: 30 volts
- Runtime: 60 minutes at 100% power (longer at lower power – e.g. 120 minutes at 50%)
- Charging time: 4 hours using a normal 230V socket (in the house, garage, anywhere)
The result: No power outlet is needed at the pool. Charge the battery at home, carry the device to the pool, attach it, and swim.
Turbine technology – wide flow, extreme speed
The EVAstream MOVE uses turbine technology (like Binder HydroStar) – not pump-nozzle technology.
What does that mean?
The turbine draws in water, accelerates it, and releases it through a wide outlet → a broad flow (not a concentrated jet). Your entire body is in the flow. No splashing. Natural swimming.
2 models:
EVAstream MOVE 225 (45 Ah battery):
Flow rate: 225 m³/h
Speed: Up to approx. 5.5 m/s (estimated, EVAstream does not provide an exact figure)
For: Ambitious amateur swimmers, fitness training
EVAstream MOVE 275 (60 Ah battery):
Flow rate: 275 m³/h
Speed: Up to 6.7 m/s (specified by EVAstream)
For: Professional swimmers, elite training, maximum intensity
What does 6.7 m/s mean in practical terms?
For comparison:
- 1.0 m/s : Aqua jogging, rehabilitation (very slow)
- 2.0 m/s : Fitness swimming (corresponds to approx. 2:30 min/100m pace)
- 3.2 m/s : Binder HydroStar BGA 600 Maximum (ambitious training)
- 6.7 m/s : EVAstream MOVE 275 Maximum ( Olympic sprint level )
World record 100m freestyle (men, César Cielo, 2009): 46.91 seconds = Ø 2.13 m/s (peak approx. 2.5 m/s during sprint phase).
6.7 m/s is more than twice the world record average. This isn't "normal training"—this is resistance training for elite athletes (similar to running with parachute resistance).
For whom is 6.7 m/s relevant?
For elite swimmers (Olympians, professional triathletes). For 99% of all recreational swimmers, 3.0-4.0 m/s is already very intense.
However, the speed is continuously adjustable (via app). You can also swim at 1.5 m/s (gentle) or 3.0 m/s (intense). 6.7 m/s is the maximum – no "either/or".
Clip in instead of installing – Plug & Play
The major advantage of the EVAstream MOVE: No assembly. No installation.
Stationary systems (Binder HydroStar/EasyStar):
Wall penetration in pool wall → Integrate installation shaft → Install turbine → Wiring to control cabinet → Installation by specialist company → 1-2 days of work.
EVAstream MOVE:
Hang it on the edge of the pool (like a pool ladder) → Switch it on → Done.
How does the hooking-up process work?
The device has a clip-on design (similar to skimmers or pool ladders that are hooked onto the pool edge). You position it on the pool edge → the device hangs half in the water (turbine underwater, control unit above water) → clamp it in place → done.
Advantage:
- No wall penetrations (basin remains undamaged)
- No professional company needed (suitable for DIYers)
- Reversible (can be removed at any time)
- Position changeable (here today, there tomorrow)
Disadvantage:
- Less stable than stationary systems (could slip due to waves/movement – but a clamping system secures it)
- Visible (device protrudes above water surface – less aesthetically pleasing than the invisible installation shaft used by Binder)
60 minutes runtime – sufficient for a complete workout
Battery runtime: 60 minutes at 100% power (model 275 m³/h at 6.7 m/s).
For lower power output, correspondingly longer:
- 50% power (approx. 3.3 m/s): Approx. 120 minutes
- 25% power (approx. 1.7 m/s): Approx. 240 minutes
Is 60 minutes enough?
For most people: Yes.
Typical swim training (hobby athlete): 30-45 minutes. Elite training: 60-90 minutes.
With 60 minutes at 100% power you can:
- Swim continuously for 60 minutes (endurance training)
- Or: Interval training (5 min sprint at 6 m/s, 2 min rest, repeat → total 60 min training)
If you want to train for a longer time (90+ min):
Start at 50-70% power → battery lasts 90-120 min.
After training: Charge the battery (4 hours using a normal household outlet). The next day: Ready for another 60 minutes of use.
EVA Experience web app – smart training
The EVA Experience web app (free, web-based – no app download required, use in the browser) connects to the EVAstream MOVE (via Bluetooth or WiFi):
Features:
Real-time intensity control:
Continuously adjustable speed (from 1.0 m/s to 6.7 m/s). Adjust speed live while swimming (faster/slower).
Swimming time management:
Set a timer ("30 min workout"). The app counts down and displays the remaining time.
Monitor training session:
Live data: Current speed, elapsed time, battery status ("37% remaining = approx. 22 min").
Statistics:
After training: Summary ("Swimmed 45 mins, avg. 3.2 m/s, max. 5.0 m/s"). Over weeks/months: Track progress.
Flexibility:
Create training programs (e.g., "Interval: 5 min at 5 m/s, 2 min at 2 m/s, repeat 10 times"). The app automatically controls the speed.
It's like a fitness tracker (Garmin, Fitbit) – but for swimming.
Safety standards – fingers, toes, hair protected
Problem with turbines: Rotating parts could suck in fingers/toes/hair.
EVAstream has implemented safety measures:
Protective grille in front of turbine:
Prevents fingers/toes from getting caught in rotating parts. Mesh size small enough that even children's fingers cannot fit through.
EVA torque control:
The sensor detects when resistance suddenly increases (e.g., because hair is sucked in) → the turbine stops immediately. Like an emergency stop on a machine.
Voltage/current regulation:
Prevents overheating, overload, and short circuits.
MOSFET temperature control:
Sensor measures the temperature of the electronics → in case of overheating (>32°C water temperature or >40°C electronics): Automatic shutdown.
Certifications:
- DIN EN 16582-1/2/3 (Safety standards for residential swimming pools)
- EN 16713-2 (residential pools)
- EN 13451-1/3 (commercial pools)
EVAstream is TÜV-certified (German safety standards).
IPX8 rating – Waterproof
IPX8 = highest level of waterproofing (completely waterproof, even during continuous diving).
The turbine and electronics are completely waterproof. It can remain permanently underwater (not just temporarily like IPX7).
Practical: You can leave the EVAstream MOVE outside even in the rain (briefly). Or: Forget it in the pool (overnight) → no damage.
Maximum operating temperature 32°C – Ideal for European pools
Maximum water temperature: 32°C.
Perfect for European pools . Normal pool temperature: 24-28°C. Even heated pools rarely exceed 30°C.
NOT suitable for: Whirlpools (37-40°C), hot tubs (38-40°C). For these: Use HydroStar binder (which can withstand higher temperatures).
2+1 year warranty – Extendable upon registration
Standard warranty:
- 2 years on turbine + drive wiring unit
- 1 year on battery
Extended warranty (upon registration at evaoptic.com):
- 3 years on turbine + MCU (control unit)
A one-year battery warranty is standard for lithium-ion batteries. After one year, the battery may weaken (normal for Li-ion batteries). You can purchase a replacement battery (price not yet known, estimated at €500-800).
