The concept: Opaque tarpaulin + drainage mesh = perfect winter solution

Winter tarpaulins must fulfill two tasks :

Task #1: Protect the pool from dirt (keep leaves, twigs, pollen out)
Task #2: Prevent algae growth (no sunlight in the water)

The problem: rainwater. Winter = lots of rain/snow. Water collects on the cover → cover sags (weight of the water) → cover touches water in the pool → gets dirty → difficult to clean.

In heavy rain/snow: The tarpaulin may tear (too much weight) or slip into the water (fastening gives way).
